Getting Started

Zero Terminal is broker-connected from the first screen. There is no read-only mode and no fixture data once you sign in. The flow below walks through everything needed to land on a populated portfolio.

1. Create an account

Sign up at zeroterminal.io. Authentication is handled by Clerk, so an email plus a password (or a supported social provider) is all that is required. Account creation does not collect a credit card and does not start a trial — you land on the Free tier by default.

2. Connect a broker

Charles Schwab and TradeStation are supported today. Interactive Brokers is in progress. After signup you are sent to the broker connect screen, where the chosen broker's OAuth flow runs. We never see your broker password — only the access and refresh tokens needed to read positions and balances on your behalf.

A single user can connect multiple broker accounts. Each connection produces one or more accounts, and each account contributes positions to the unified Portfolio view.

3. First portfolio sync

Once OAuth completes, positions sync within a few seconds. During market hours the sync interval is three seconds; off-hours it falls back to five minutes. The Portfolio tab populates as soon as the first sync finishes. From there, the other tabs and the Command Agent can answer questions about your book.

4. Bring in your X accounts (optional)

If you intend to use the X timeline features, head to Settings and import the accounts you follow into a search list. From there you can curate themed lists — Markets and Macro, Sector Analysts, Options Flow — and run targeted searches scoped to your tickers. X Timeline Search is a Premium feature and consumes from your monthly allocation.
